The Next Generation Control Room Calgary Demo Event

Here we are in our natural environment!

On May 23rd CCOMM hosted another successful event where we demonstrated the next generation operator workspace and control room environment to a select audience in Calgary. Our guests throughout the day came from a wide range of industries including oil and gas, energy infrastructure and service providers, emergency services, facilities management and security services.

As technology continues to advance at a rapid pace, legacy operations centres may not be able to respond as efficiently to certain conditions, and may be pressed with the need to increase processing capacity, incorporate more sources of data, communicate with larger or more diversified teams who are using newer technology, all the while maintaining service levels with the same number of operators.

New facilities in the planning phase or established centre upgrade projects are challenged with the problem of how to incorporate the most effective technology and design, yet remain scalable and adaptable to future requirements while maintaining strict security policies and regulated processes and procedures.

Existing systems, databases, applications and communication tools cannot all be changed, rebuilt or modernized, so how can you leverage what you have in place today yet greatly improve upon your operator efficiency, speed of decision making and access to all of the information that is required without creating a cumbersome and awkwardly growing and yet segregated environment?
